Psychedelic-Assisted Interventions, Harm Reduction & Mental Health Research

The PRIME Lab investigates how psychedelic-assisted interventions and other harm reduction approaches can support recovery, resilience, and well-being among individuals affected by trauma and substance use challenges. Our work is guided by a central question: for whom, under what conditions, and through what mechanisms do these interventions lead to meaningful change?

We pursue this question across several interconnected research lines:

  • Psychedelic-assisted interventions for trauma

  • Motivational mechanisms in substance use

  • Harm reduction in clinical practice

  • Equity and cultural responsiveness

We use longitudinal designs, mixed methods, and both survey-based and clinical data to build an evidence base that moves beyond “does it work?” toward understanding how, why, and for whom. 🦋
